Rune

For my Honours project and dissertation, I made it my goal to research foreshadowing in Level Design, and to develop my understanding of environment and emotion design to create interesting and engaging levels in a 2.5D platformer game. In such games, line of sight is limited and progression is linear, which raised questions about how this would work and provided a fun design challenge, with plenty of opportunities to learn a range of Level Design techniques. This is the finished build I submitted alongside my dissertation.

You must venture through a mystical, post-apocalyptic world in order to find out what happened to it. Traverse bizarre and wondrous landscapes and discover the titular runes hidden throughout the level, with a cryptic message hidden within them. Enjoy a 2.5 dimensional level inspired by the likes of Klonoa, and try to find all 301 gems!
